soaking as a sign of ovulation in youngish BP

    Hi all,
I have a 2012 female lesser that is right at the 1000 gram mark. She recently started soaking out of nowhere. She lives in a rack with 4 other snakes, no one new has been added. I've checked all the obvious problems (e.g. mites) and she's clean. Husbandry is right on (91 hot spot, 82 ambient, humidity 65%). She's never soaked pre-shed so I don't think it's that. I have read that some females will soak when they are getting ready to ovulate - could this be the case even though she's on the young side? She's obviously not physically (size wise) ready to breed but could she be ovulating anyway? Thanks in advance!

Sometimes if it's not a bad infestation it's hard to see on the actual snake, try checking the water bowl. Otherwise they soak there bottom if they need helping passing a large bowl movement. They cannot ovulate without breeding.

I checked the water and it's clear - I had a herp friend also take a look at the water bowl just to make sure I wasn't missing anything, looks clear. The bowel movement thing could be it - she didn't eat tonight. She otherwise looks and acts fine.
