Man, I just read your quote that shows under your message, and that's brilliant. I've see sooooo many people saying stuff like "Evolution is a lie." and I've always been like; "Dude, for real? You really believe that?"

Yeah, it will be fun to see what happens in his offspring and how they will look. If I see some babies with the silver look, and some without, then I can say for sure it's two genes, lesser and something else.
I'm going to assume it's not, but I'd be delighted if he proves me wrong! xD

Little worried though that his greyness might not be the best combo for bumblebees, since they should have clear, bright, warm colors, and he is a...dull? Grey/silver color. I'm worried he might give me bumblebees and pastels that brown out more quickly, but we'll see.

He is my first lesser, and I hadn't looked into them so closely before, so I didn't react much to his color at first. I put him with my bumblebee because I really want me a queen bee I might not have put him with that female if I had noticed this before though, I don't know really. It's my first breeding season so I'm still learning, and was so happy I could aim for queen bees and all.

I also have a butterfire male, but he is born this year and still so tiny xD He is with my spinnerblast female though, climbing all over her, so I hope he might make it! He is tiny, 200grams or so, he refused food in the beginning so it's only now that he is growing like weed.
I had completely given up on him for this season, but his flirting with that female gives me hope!

I would normally agree that the bees should be pretty warm and bright, but if you get queen bees out of them, and his coloring gets passed on I think that would actually be a bonus (assuming that he is just an exceptionally silver lesser and not lesser +?). I'd much rather have a high contrast silvery queen bee than a "regular" queen bee.

I have some more info on this male. His dad was in fact an Mojave/Lesser, and this is his mom;



She is really reduced, isn't she? o.o Could he have gotten his reduced pattern from her?
