I didn't know how dangerous going to buy f/t rats could be.............

sooooooo ya, went to the awesome reptile store which is about 45 mins away, it is where I buy my f/t rats..... I always check out the ball python stock and even though there is always something awesome I would want to take home, I've never actually purchased something....
Due to my recent purchse of the pied girl, I decided I might as well start looking for a het pied male....

well.... found him. Mojave het pied. going to do a "lay away" with him since I just am making payments on the pied girl. (getting a large bonus at work soon, will all be spent on these snakes, it's a sickness I think....lol)

I think he was a good price and very excited to try and make some little pieds of my own in a few years, and maybe even luck out with a mojave pied!

I will post pics as soon as he his home!!

You'll still have the chance to get pieds if they breed, but the odds go down a little. You may have to have multiple breedings before you actually get some. Of course, you could always hit the jackpot the first time! Good luck, and congrats on the purchase.

Hate to be the wet blanket, but you could also breed it 2-3-4 times and find out that its not a het after all. I try to stay with 100% hets. And I believe 100% het male pieds are going fairly reasonably.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

    What dark bird said.

Basically a 66% het is a baby from a het to het pairing that produced visuals. It could be, and it could not be het pied. Should go with a 100% het to have the actual probability.

I'm not comfortable enough to play 66% roll of the dice. %100 hets pied males are reasonably priced.

dad was a visual mojave pied and mom was a mojave.

so he will cross real nice with my pastel and my bumble bee and I will use him on my pied girl. If i get pieds great, if not, I will still have some pretty snakes

    thanks guys!
