Okay, not good. Snake vomit I believe. Help?

So one of my ball pythons refused a meal so the following week (the 21st) I fed him a hopper mouse instead of his normal adult mouse. On the 24th he was really active and I thought he might of been hungry so I offered him an adult mouse. He took it and ate it just fine and went back into his hide. So today I went to check on my snakes and I noticed right outside his hide was a partially digested mouse. I'd say the top 3/4 of the mouse looked like feces and the last 1/4 (the mouses back legs and tail) were not digested. The smell wasn't bad, it wasn't really wet it was pretty dry, there was no stain on the newspaper underneath the mouse either.

I read some articles online and I guess there's regurgitation and vomiting for snakes. I thought they were both the same but this clearly looks like vomit.

He's 150 grams. That was the first time he missed a meal since I've had him. He's in a rack system although I'm about to quarantine him to be safe.

The hopper mouse was 10 grams and the adult mouse was 20 grams. Do you think it was maybe just to much food in those 4 days? Only one mouse came out, the hopper must of been fully digested.

Should I give him 10-14 days and attempt to feed a smaller prey item or should I try and get to a vet as soon as possible?

His husbandry is fine so I don't know what's going on with my little guy.

Any help would be great.

Give him 2 to 3 weeks before you try to feed again.
What temps do you have his heat at?
Belly, back, or just a lamp?

It's a C Serpents Rack. It's belly heat. I have a Herpstat 2. Hot spot goes from 91-93, Cool side usually 80-83 depending on how cold it gets outside.

He's also really shy, sometimes it seems like he's stressed so I only handle him to clean his tub and things like that. I have 3 identical hides in there and he uses them all. He also comes out at night here and there. Should I wait the 2-3 weeks and try and feed a smaller item again and if he vomits again should I hit the vet or should I try and get an appointment now?

My hotspot for my balls are around 88-89. I've found that mine prefer the bit cooler temps as when I an issue with the thermostat probe coming partially untaped they hot spots were 91-92 and they didn't really like it.

Again this is purely what I've noticed from keeping balls the years that I have. Most people that I know keep their temps around 88ish as well. Maybe try lowering the temps down slightly and see if you notice any difference.

Okay, my snake seems to be okay at least. He was moving around all last night looking for food. I did see a little yellow on the newspaper where he did regurgitate, I'm guessing that's the stomach acid. I lowered them temps a bit. Should I still give him 2 weeks before I feed him? Again, I've owned Ball Pythons on and off for a few years but this year I really started to get into them and I've never encountered this. So I'm a little unsure what exactly to do. All the stuff I read online is giving me conflicting information. Some say hit the vet immediately, some say wait 7-10 days to feed and some say 3 weeks. Any more advice would be a great later Christmas present.

After a regurg 14 days is the mimum you should wait to feed. The gut needs time to replenish the flora

I would say wait at least 10 more days and offer a half sized meal. Then if it happens again I world seek out a vet.

You want to wait after a regurg because the snake loses alot of digestive fluid and feeding to soon after can cause issues because of the low fluid levels. You want them to have a chance to rebuild the fluids.

If there was no smell I'd be inclined to say maybe not a regurge. They stink to HIGH heaven and an adult mouse regurge would have me holding back vomit. Last time I had one regurge it was quite wet and soupy, too.

It just smelt a little poop like. He did poop again later that night too. He's been wandering his tub for the last 5-6 hours looking for food. Like I said earlier, what I found was literally what looked like poop connected to the back end of a mouse, the legs and the tail... Weirdest thing I've seen in my life. My gut says just wait out the time and then feed him. Better to be safe then sorry. I feel bad for him though cause he's just dying for a meal it seems. I should of taken pictures. I actually picked it up with tongs and put gloves on and squeezed the poop part and it just broke apart. It was a little dry, the rest of it was clearly 2 mouse legs and its tail.
