If my understanding is correct, how do u maintain the temps?

Temps and light are totally different things and are regulated separately. Temps are regulated by a thermostat.

So does anyone notice a difference in breeding activity when there is a light cycle taking place? Currently my rats get the light from the window in my bedroom with blinds closed. The snakes get lights when I feel like plugging them in for the day, otherwise it's usually room light when we are there. If light does effect them I need to keep that in my mind for my future reptile room.

I've only noticed a difference in the rats. Ball Pythons haven't really shown any change. Lower light cycle slows rodent production.
