Here's a tip for Cecil:
I've been married for a long time now.
My wife does not like reptiles. She puts up with them because it makes me happy.
My wife likes to do bike centuries. She belongs to a women's bike club that goes up Mt. Diablo every week.
I hate road biking.......and if you thing snakes are an expensive hobby you haven't seen how much a good carbon fiber road bike is fully decked out with quality components. Or how much those little spandex outfits cost. But I foot the bills without question because I know it makes her happy.
Sometimes you don't have to have a hobby in common to make things work - sometimes having individual and separate hobbies is a good thing. I've known couples whose love of reptiles was not enough to keep their marriage together, so go figure.
I count my time with my animals as a needed break from my wife and kids. It allows me a little bit of time every day to get a healthy space from them, and I'm positive my wife views cycling as the same for her. I don't know if personally, I would enjoy my hobby as much if I had to share it with someone else.
But hey - that's just me.

For the record, even a NOT SO GOOD carbon fiber bike is going to cost you more than my car. Trust me, that's not an exaggeration. Skiploader brings up an excellent point, though. You don't need to go scratching around for someone who shares all of your interests. As an example, my girl HATES guns. All guns. A couple years ago, she had a few thousand dollars worth of custom work done on my .45 as a Christmas gift. What made that so special to me is the fact that she was willing to compromise something she felt strongly about in order to do something special for me. Call me a romantic, but that's better than a shared interest any day.

Re: looking for a snake loving girl
My boyfriend games. PVP stuff online, not so much WoW anymore but things like Guild Wars 2 the like. Personally, I think a bunch of it is a waste of money, but if I know he wants a new game or a piece of merch, I try to get it for him before he does.
Now, James does like reptiles, but my snakes don't impress him. He's more into water and mountain dragons. He bonded pretty closely with my Rankin's, when I had her. So he likes the four leggeds. However, while he would rather have one critter and give it all his love, he understands that I am passionate about breeding someday and supports that. So even within the hobby, there are different priorities to have, but as long as both parties respect that, there's a solid foundation.

Well I have a solution for all of us. I'll have to double check before I post anything but we could always be our own matchmakers on here.
