I'm glad to hear they can't get out, but around here we have not just the red German cockroaches but also palmetto bugs which are giant flying roaches and a slippery substance certainly wouldn't trap them in the tank! I haven't really had a problem with them here, but I did at two previous houses where I lived and they will fly at you out of the blue. I hated that!
