BP length at 6MO
My male ball python is about 2' 6" and growing, fast. He seems pretty giant for a male if you ask me, I don't know the method of sexing so he might be a female, or I'm just underestimating his growth rate, anyhow... I just wanna see how big your 6 month olds are and their sex too, also, does he seem large to you?

With snakes, you generally go by their weight in grams. Length isn't a very good predictor of overall health. A picture and a weight would be immensely helpful.

Also, every snake is different. I have 2 females that are only a couple months apart, and one is around 1200 grams, the other over 2000.
If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.

Re: BP length at 6MO
I don't know his weight and don't have any recent pictures of him but he's a little bit on the skinny side now given the fact that he refused food for 7 weeks. I don't really care about his weight though because he's not a breeder or anything(obviously) as long as he's got good meat and muscle on him(not too much not too little)and isn't having any problems or anything it shouldn't really matter anyways. He just seems unusually large compared to all the other 5-7 mo male BPs I've seen. He's not power fed or anything, his mom was wild caught and a
bit large though...maybe some "sub-Saharan/Volta" blood in there...
edit; and yes I do know that they vary greatly.

Whether your snake is a breeder or not, the general health is still not measured in length. You can have a snake that is 2'6" and very skinny or very fat or right in the middle. My male pied is almost 3' but he went off feed for several months and is only about 600g right now. Too skinny!
That being said I've seen some yearling snakes well on their way to 2,000g so yours is probably not that uncommon.

Re: BP length at 6MO
I know length has nothing to do with health and weight, really, does not necessarily matter as long as he's not too fat or too skinny and healthy, saying it does is like saying a small-boned 5' tall Asian man should weigh 200lbs just because a bunch of large-boned(not fat) 6' tall white guys do. I'm just wondering if he seems a bit large for a 6mo male BP because I've just never seen a 6mo that was as large as he is.

Well the weight and overall look of the snake is what is important BPs are suppose to be tube shaped no matter the length.

Some localities of ball python get rather large. Is he CB? WC? Could be sub-saharan perhaps?

How certain are you that, A. He's a HE. B. He's 6mos old?
