The earth tone pastels have pale color creeping up the sides blending into a rich brown coloring, giving a nice moderate look. Whats not to appreciate?

Re: Most browned out Pastel "contest"
I agree with BH.
I know the op is just trying to have some fun. But let's just say having a really browned out pastel *usually* isn't something most people are proud of....

Anybody with a pastel over 4 years and 2000g ought to be able to contribute to this one. I think the real "winners" should have an age/size restriction. Let's see who can post up the brownest pastel under 500g.
Mother, daughter shot to show that even nice pastels get "brown" given enough time and size:

Re: Most browned out Pastel "contest"
I wish I had taken a photo of the "fancy BP" at the local Petsmart. It was in the 150-200gram range and was difficult to ID as a pastel. For what they were asking you could have picked up a bright pastel and a whack of feeders easily from a local breeder.

Just curious, what were they asking?

Here is a thread I found with a pretty browned out pastel: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...-Major-DDUUWW) and I am a strong believer that whatever an animal looks like it is still amazing and should not be looked down upon based upon breeding ability and what a single person belives as "not good quality", of course I know about breeding and clean pattern+++ but if it is just to be kept as a pet who cares if it is "good quality"
Sorry about the mini-rant, it wasn't directed at anyone in particular I just feel strongly about this and im sure im not the only one.
Edit: In the link i am talking about the first pastel after the Normals and its acctually notthat browned out but I just happened to find it

Re: Most browned out Pastel "contest"
If memory serves it was $249 for an unsexed fancy ball python. And, for clarification this was at a Canadian Petsmart.

Ha, thats crazy, in the UK we dont have petsmart but even if we did I would completely avoid it, thats a crazy price for any young pastel, however "browned out" it is.
