Water Bowl

Ok so Jojo has gotten bigger since i got him he still has the same water bowl as when i did got him its about 6" in diameter. I was at petsmart and saw one of these small plastic litter boxes they are 13" long about 3" high and about 8" wide and they are like $1.99 if i could use one of these. They got to be durable if a cat is going to be scratching in it.

Does anyone else have one of these or use something similar. The reason being is i saw Jojo soaking in his water bowl and he barely fit. Poor guy.

Sure, you can use it. It might be kinda tippy, but probably not if weighed down with water. It will affect your humidity levels, though. Often times the dollar store will have plastic pet water dishes which work great if you don't need to raise the humidity, or the garden store has large terra cotta plant pot dishes if you do.

That is one of the reasons why i am looking into buying it. The humidity gets around 35% this is another reason why i am switching from screen top tank to a sterilite and they are easier to clean.

Absolutely, but you might want to get the Sterilite set up first before committing to a particular water dish. I find in the shallower enclosures plastic dishes work better for me and in the taller ones I use terra cotta or glass, and then the humidity works out pretty well.

I like using large dog food dishes, the heavy ceramic kind. Every plastic dish I have used always gets knocked over. But I never did try a litter-pan type dish; maybe the water would weigh it down enough. I'd recommend a big dog food bowl. Or if you can get to a farm store, a small livestock water trough works great and is pretty heavy.
