What often was the previous owner feeding? Surely he asked.
Being a rescue is the snake underweight or have any issues?
Why was it let go?
What is your friend keeping it in(type/size cage)?
Have you or your friend ever been told that for every 4 feet of snake you should have one person for handling? So a 12 foot snake should have 3 people to be safe.

It was very skinny.my friend has had it about a year and its gotten alot bigger. He has it in a 20 ft long x 5 ft wide and 3ft tall cage that he made out of plywood and there's a tile flooring he got it from an adoption website and they said you feed it every week.

So he has been feeding weekly?
At that size every 2 to 3 weeks should be good for a feeding schedule. This however depends on the size of food that can be acquired and thus offered. If all you can get are smaller foods then either more served per feeding or sooner feedings will be needed but if the food is larger then a less frequent feeding schedule may be needed. The snake may have his own idea of what it needs and go longer between meals though. I cant really pin down a certain amount of weeks without being there and knowing the snake but every 2-4 weeks should work find depending on the food offered. You also do not want to overfeed and make it fat.

Pics or it didn't happen - theres a lot of weird info going in these post that reaks of trolliong, but these cage deminsions are sounding quite exagerated. . . trolldar is ringing . . .

That's why I didn't bring it up. I seriously doubt that is what the snake is in.
But if it is I can not imagine cleaning it, correctly that is.
