    I would also suggest aquarium sealant as I've used it to replace broken glass in tanks, which are then used to house reptiles, and haven't had any problems.

    There is nothing wrong with implementing a cheap or even free, but still workable and safe solution to a problem if it means you can save your dollars for more important expenditures, like vet bills, quality thermostats, or new acquisitions.
