Tub generally refers to a Sterilite or similar type of "storage box" made of plastic, like this: http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=24757 (they come in a variety of sizes, and can be purchased cheaply at Walmart, CVS, etc)
They can breathe for a while in there without holes, but probably best to poke a few just in case! And yeah, start with lukewarm water so it's not too shocking on their body.
