San Antonio zoo reptile house catches fire.

Thought I would share this story that I just saw. Hopefully most of the reptiles make it.

That's terrible. The komodo dragon especially has to be a major blow to the zoo.

A 15-year-old komodo dragon, an Amazon tree boa and a
prehensile-tailed skink were all killed in the fire

I'll check later and see if they update it any. I would think it would be electrical related.

That really sucks.. I agree, the Komodo is sure to be a huge blow to the zoo. It obviously sucks when this happens to any animal, even people. I just always feel the worst for reptiles because they're literally kept locked up and prevented from any escape. My roommate was just telling me a story the other day about a buddy who had a boa that had been left at a vacation home for a couple days and in that time the home burned down. When they went back he found the snake in basically one big char inside the warped glass tank..

On the "bright side", at least only 3 were lost at the zoo. It could have been significantly worse, I'm sure..

From a couple people I talked to in my area that work there, it was electrical and most likely overloaded with trying to keep the heat up.
    Loss of the dragon SUCKS.
