would suggest you do not get any possible hets then.
perfect

i would say: if you want to breed, the absolute minimum would be 100% het females. unless you deal with something extraordinarily expensive like sunglow. a good way to start with a recessive project that has come down in price, starting at a low level, would be a visual male and 100% het and/or 100% het + extra gene females. like, for example, a male pied and a female het pied and a female enchi het pied.

with possible hets you also have the problem that people often manage to pick out the most likely hets from the clutch and sell the rest as possible hets. het pieds have markers, and het clowns sometimes also have them. weak markers only really work when you can see the entire clutch of hatchlings in person and compare them to one another in detail. when a clutch produced 4 possible 66% hets and the best two got picked out and you buy one of the remaining two, how much will it be worth?

it makes sense when a breeder collaborates with another breeder, it makes sense to maybe prove out some possible hets you produced yourself, but on the open market, go for 100% hets and even for these make sure you buy 1st hand, not 2nd hand, and that your direct 1st hand source is a reputable, reliable breeder.
