I am brand new to all this, and with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome making it hard for me to tell how much pressure I am applying, it just makes sense for me to let someone more experienced handle sexing.

Popping for everything. It's less invasive than a probe.

Prefer probing because I think it's more accurate, puts less stress on the hemipenes (if they happen to be present), and quite frankly, I'm just better at it than popping.

I actually do both. Pop, and probe. If any hatchlings were on the fence with popping, I probe to be sure.

What is your preferred method of sexing hatchling?
I'll pop hatchlings. It doesn't take much pressure.

Hatchlings I'll pop. Otherwise if any older, I'll probe. However, my one adult cornsnake, that I didn't bother probing.. Proved herself female by randomly laying 15 slugs. Well, guess she's a girl!

Re: What is your preferred method of sexing hatchling?
I pop first. All the babies who pop "female" will get probed. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I learned how to probe first so I'm sticking with it. Also, I feel more comfortable probing than popping.

Pop hatchlings, everything else gets popped and then probed to confirm...
