New to snakes confused about shed

Damp pillowcase, snake in, tie half way down and pop in the enclosure over night (the middle of the enclosure) I've heard this helps, didn't do a thing for my pastel but I've heard more successes than failures.

Alternatively let him run through a damp cloth in your hands applying soft pressure towards the tail as he moves to help assist.

I know...I'm just scared he won't be able to breathe through it...lol im a scaredy cat...imo trying to let him shed on his own but it looks like I may hv to do the pillowcase...thx
