there is enough breeding going on, we DO NOT NEED to cut into the wild population unless its something extraordinary.
very reduced pattern normal, congratulations.
EDIT: why dont breeders sell their normals as "wild caught" just to poison the well? seems like a smart thing to do: get some suckers to pay, reduce stress on the wild population.
Kinda contradict yourself, dont cut into the wild population unless it is something cool, but shame on them for picking that up?
Wild caught snakes unless a visual difference fetch a far lower price than captive bred, what kind of well would they be poisoning, besides their reputation, lying gets you far. Actually the only ones I personally know to buy wild caught are Breeders trying to meet wholesale demand. Of course if anything dinker worthy came they would keep it, but i would assume it to be quite rare.

Your snake is very nice. It's your snake breed it have fun and see what happens. I also think if you do breed it to a clown you may be surprised a what you get.

the whole morph bonanza going on in ball pythons should make ball pythons in the wild MORE SAFE instead of LESS SAFE.
That being said, what you have there is NOT a WILD CAUGHT. its a captive hatched or farm bred. worst case: gravid female got caught, got kept without feed until she produced eggs, got released back into the wild losing months of food and one reproductive cycle. best case: its from a farm, semi-captive, attracted by food, lured to produce eggs.
i just hate it that so much breeding is going on, and people go out of their way just to find a window to still put pressure on the wild population, even when it is entirely unneccesary.
very reduced pattern normal, congratulations.

I get what you're trying to say, but don't forget that the hundreds of morphs/new lines if a morph all came about because someone bought a wild caught animal that looked different. He/she bred it, and out popped a new morph.
If no one played around with "dinkers" we would only have normal ball pythons.
You say taking wild caught animals and dinking with them is fine of it's something extraordinary...a lot of times, what's taken from the wild doesn't always look extraordinary...they look similar to normals but all slightly different (like in the case with yb, specter, spark, vanilla, and even fire to name a few).

Those are some very strong statements there that I would like to see you back up.
FYI there are PLENTY of crooked breeders in this hobby, that's why we are so close knit.
How do you think "new" morphs come about??

Looking good....hopefully it is something genetic and not due to a temp spike or some fluke.

Seriously doubt any of it is spike related and I'll keep everyone updated with the progress. Thanks all

Beautiful animal. I would try to reproduce that pattern before I mixed it up with anything. To find out whether it's recessive or not. Breed it to a normal male and then put the babies back to mom. But then I would definitely pair it with a Clown! That was my first thought.

Did you ever get to prove this one out? If so share the outcome.
