BP Shed Question
I picked up my first BP a little over a month ago and he shed for me for the first time last night. My question though, is the later half of his body has sort of an iridescence to it on some of the scales. Im going to try to attach a picture, if anyone can help and let me know if this is normal or not please do so. He shed in one complete piece save for the last 0.5in of his tail which i'm going to have to soak. I am a little bit worried!

Well I cant get the images to work but the link should work.
Thanks for the Help![/B]

Re: BP Shed Question
I don't see a link posted, but I'm guessing you have a regular BP (correct me if I'm wrong). Yea, that's completely normal. After my regular sheds I see a little bit of translucent color on his scales.
If you have a smartphone, download the tapatalk app so you can post photos straight from your phone.

Kinda like this?

Re: BP Shed Question
Hi,
It looks like he had a bit of a rough shed and removed the very top layer of large numbers of his new scales. It should fix itself if you raise the humidity before his next shed.
But the iridescence is normal and can really look great in the right light.

Great thanks, the scale issue is on the lower 1/3 of his body. He is a little guy, only 90 gram Yellow Belly, but a great eater! I wanted to make sure that this wasn't an issue that required immediate Vet assistance. I had him in a glass enclosure and have been fighting to keep humidity up. It hovers around 40% due to the fact that I have UTH and a ceramic heating element to maintain the proper temperature gradient. I did have his humidity at 60-70% for the duration of the shed, I will try to keep it higher than 70% during his next shed.
I will be switching him to a sterilte tub this weekend. Thanks for the help!
