Sounds like fun. I can pick up smaller crix with my fingers, but the bigger ones still creep me out too much, so the other day I found myself chasing one around with a pair of needlenose pliars, too! And you're right...it ain't easy! LOL (I was feeding it to my beardie) I don't know much about leos, but it seems like a good thing that he ate the crix for you...if for no other reason than to make your feeding times consistent.
