Flying within Canadian borders is outrageously expensive. I flew from Windsor, ON to Calgary, AB one Christmas while I was in university and the round trip flights cost me about $1400. And that was taking an airport bus from Windsor to Toronto before setting foot on a plane. I know that Christmas time is always more expensive to fly, but to put things in perspective, I purchased round trip flights to Fiji a couple years ago in mid January for $1900.

A Canadian BBQ or meet up would be great. I do come to Ontario once or twice a year as I still have family in Windsor and friends all over the place (Windsor, Kitchener, Toronto, Peterborough..), but most of my time is visiting people I already know instead of meeting new ones. Maybe I should plan my next trip for one of the big reptile conventions out there.
