    A smelly mistake.

So I have a 6 month old fire Bp that just got out of shed today. I picked him up to soak him because he still had a bit of shed on his tail. Apparently he didn't want to be bothered because he shot a stream of pee or musk on to me and the floor. I got the smell of of my self just wondering how long it will last in the room. I put baking powder and vacuumed and free breezed it.

Hoping to breath free soon. Thank you in advance.

    Eric

Ha! Ive actually put my finger right in snake poop when picking up a hide....only to discover the snake left a present for me inside. Getting poop smashed under your fingernail is a disgusting feeling.

    Re: A smelly mistake.

LOL the carpet stinks, you smell. I would invest in a Bissell SpotBot but until you can get one there are carpet shampoo products at the grocery store you can use on the spots that got hit. Also check the pet aisle for products designed to clean up cat urine (which IMO is worse than snake urine). Febreeze won't penetrate the carpet deeply enough to handle it.

    Re: A smelly mistake.

I agree. If its in the carpet, febreeze will only mask the smell. Natures Miracle is a product that you can get at just about any pet store, and has enzymes in it that break down pet stains and smells. It works great!

Seconding Nature's Miracle. That stuff is able to overpower the ungodly stink that is cat pee.

    Re: A smelly mistake.

Instead of paying a ton of money for a product go get some vineger and put it on there. It will penetrate the stinky and get rid of it. Its what my vet uses for anal glands and what professional skunk extractors use when they get sprayed. Takes the smell right out. You want a weak acid like that or tomatoes juice.

    A smelly mistake.

Thanks for the advise. The vinegar worked great! No more smell! Totally learned my lesson this time.
