Will a bpb lie in its own feces

I'm a new owner and I was just wondering since our snakes spend so much time on their hides is it common for them to poo in it and just waddle around in it til you clean it up or are they cleaner and take care of biz outside the hide? or a mix? in mommy two experiences I got poo'd on and the other outside the tub...jus asking...thx

I haven't had mine lie in it, they normally leave their faeces and urates right on the edge on the inside. Some will leave the hide and no go in until it is cleaned, others stay in the hide regardless.

Most of mine have pooped in a corner and then left it alone. However, I have a super messy black butter who will slither through it and smear everything.. every time....

I don't think they would. Our newest baby will use ''the bathroom'' right outside on or near his hot hide, while my other bp will for some reason always urine's on my wife

Mine will poo in the corners of their enclosures outside of the hides.

    Yup,

Some of them will also seemingly take great delight in smearing it all over the sides, lid and vents of their enclosures - we call those poo-casso's.

Re: Will a bpb lie in its own feces

In my experience, most snakes seem rather unconcerned about feces in their cage though I do have a few that will outright avoid coming in contact with their own stool. Younger snakes and the adult males of various species are likely to musk out of the basic "fight or flight" response...I have a male retic about 4ft that likes to give me a "fresh coat" and beat my dog as far as shear volume and stream of urine goes . Either way, as long as you spot clean on a daily basis and keep your bedding smelling fresh, you will have little to worry about.

All of my BP's go in the corner of their tubs except for my Spotnose Pinstripe girl. She will go right where she lays and stay coiled around it. Half the time you wouldn't even know it was there if you didn't pick her up to check. She does the same thing with sheds too.

Well, I can tell you I haven't referred to my BPs as "pee-pee snakes" for nothing.
For an animal with super smelling abilities, they seem to have no trouble with coating themselves with faeces and urine when the opportunity presents itself. Boots in particular likes to turn around and investigate her excrement shortly after letting it loose.
