Getting into BPs
Hey everyone, this is my first time here and my first adventure into snakes. I've been talking to my Dad whom has a 6&1/2 foot male boa constrictor and I've been talking to him about getting a ball. He uses caging from this place called boaphile plastics. Since I plan on getting a male, this tank is what we decided on: http://www.boaphileplastics.com/122d.html . He's had a tank from them for five years and he's never had an issue with them. The heat comes pre-installed and I'll be adding a thermostat, and a uth pad through the website. The place will run me up around $300. So, in my budget that leaves me around $100 for a snake (paper towel bedding, spare water bowl, and spare hides from my Dad). Not interested in spiders due to wobble. I live in Boone NC if anyone can recommend a nearby breeder or reptile conventions coming up after Christmas.
Thanks in advance!

That's a short cage, so just a heat panel giving out heat should do the trick. I would hit up Colombia in march that away you can have a lot of variety in your choices. On a budget of $125 I would shoot for male normals, pastels, yellowbellies, mojave, and you might just find a pinstripe for that price too.
