Best way to treat mites in this situation

I purchased Loki almost 3 weeks ago and I have noticed that he seems to have come with a very minor mite infection. So far I see one mite on him every other day or so, which I always remove and flush. Since he is my only snake, would it be best to simply bake the substrate and tank decorations and give him a bath (the mites are not up on his eyes or face for whatever reason the ones Loki has likes to stay on his sides) or should I go with a commercially available mite spray?

Remove and throw away the substrate and replace it with paper towels until the mites are gone. A mite infestation big or small should be treated the same.
