Ack, HELP! Rat is MIA in the house!
Ok everyone, I F'ed up and my wife will kill me if she found out.
I bought a 2 small rats the other day to feed my 2 balls and only one ate, my female didn't however, so I put the rat back into the paper box it came in and was planning on putting it in a small aquarium till the next feed day. Well things got in the way and I didn't get around to doing that right away. The next day I go to do it, and the rat chewed a hole through the box and is now MIA in my office. Normally I wouldn't fret, but my office is FULL of boxes of our stuff. we're in between houses kinda and we haven't unpacked everything yet. I need this rat disposed of without it dying in a box. I set out 2 mouse traps, cause thats all I could find at the store at the time, but I think it may work since the rat was a small one. But it hasn't triggered it yet, and I want this jerk gone!
What can I do to lure it out?

Bro, chill. Just keep the traps out and unpack everything carefully. Also if you lay out some poisoned peanut butter, in my experience, the pests are gone within days.

I'd stick with traps.
Because you KNOW with poison the wife is the one who will find the dead rat somewhere and freak out lol

Also if you poison it, the rat will crawl off somewhere very inconvenient to die, and then the carcass will start to stink... yuck...

Get as much NON-POISONED peanut butter all over those traps lol

I FOUND THE BASTARD!!!!! I entered my room today with crickets for my beardie ( who was happy as :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r: to see me with lunch haha) and I heard a noise from what I thought was in a large box. I quickly inspected the outside of the box for holes, which I found none, and started to carefully unpack it. And at the very bottom was the furry grey beast! I quickly got its home setup and caught him by the tail and put him in his new home!
Soooooooooo glad I found him this way instead of a phone call from a pissed off wife! lol
Now hopefully my female ball will eat next feeding day.

Glad you were able to find the rat.
When I get escaped rats, I set my ratters out on them. Aka my ferrets. And they do really well at herding the rats back or at the very least killing them and bringing back the bodies. Best rodent control ever. Lol

Yup. The original purpose of their domestication was for rodent control. They're mainly used to hunt rabbits these days.
