I know this has probably been a topic before but I have to ask

Hi All, my bp just shed today while I was at work, the only problem is he did not shed the last 2 inches of his tail. His humidity is between 85-90% and once I notice his start to change I mist twice daily. Is there any easy way to get the rest off his tail. Thank you.

Damp cloth and let him run through your hands or give him a bath to further loosen and let him run through the cloth to assist him. Better to be stuck on the tail than the face

let him crawl around in damp towels or in a damp pillowcase. a bath may also help.

    doesnt sound problematic at all.

Thank you, I will try that. What temp do you use for the water? Just tepid? How long would I let him crawl around in the very shallow water?

Do not underestimate the damage a full unshed tail can do to a specimen. I had this issue with rehabs a lot, give a good soak and just gently rub the skin off, should not be a big deal as long as it is taken care of within a week.

Use mild tepid water around 25C (77F). Dampen the cloth/towel and just let him glide through it. Maybe just put some gentle pressure against his body a bit so it rubs it a bit harder.

Never had to soak mine for this. One run or two through the towel and the left over shed is gone.

And you have somewhat high humidity. While they're shedding supposed humidity should be around 70%.

You want the temperature to feel luke warm to you for that will be warmer for the snake. If you have a temp gun make the water so its about ~78-84 degrees. I left my ball in for about 30 mins and the left over skin came off rather easily

If you decide to soak him, I have done it for about 20 minutes, and that worked fine. Just enough water to come halfway up his body

Let him soak for like 20 mins, then slightly rub him through a damp towel, that's what seems to help according to people round here..I had to do it once, worked perfect, had about 2 inches as well, end of tail
