Time frames on getting first litter

How soon do you normally get your first litters from your rats. I have had 3 groups of 1.2's together for nearly 2 months now and have only had one group produce litters so far. Also I'm wondering how long I should give them before I start looking for new feeders.

If these are new rats (as in you brought them in from another location), they might need a couple weeks to settle in before they'll start to reproduce. Also if they are younger, they might need some time (a few weeks to a few months, depending on how old they actually are) to grow up a bit and get the idea of what they are supposed to be doing.

All else aside... once they do start breeding, gestation is about 21 days, give or take a couple.
Why keep a snake? Why keep any animal? Because you enjoy the animal, find something beautiful and fascinating about it, and it fits seamlessly into your lifestyle.

How old and how large are the rats?

It took my colony 2 months to settle before starting to breed.

I have a 1.3 group and I've had them a month now. Still no babies. There didn't seem to be that many breeding attempts until about a week ago. One would let him and the other two won't. She's chubbier than the other two (she's sisters with one of the other girls) so I'm hoping she's pregnant. I tell them every day before I leave for work to give me babies. Hasn't worked so far.
