Might Have To Travel With Snakes
Hey guys so my house is cold and I might need to take my snakes home
its a 2.5 hour drive do you have any tips? I feel bad leaving them here too for they might enter shed and I need to maintain humidity. What should I do?!

Buy some heat pads that are used when people ship reptiles you can find them on eBay and maybe get a few small containers or one decent sized container or whatever, drill some holes and pack um up. Buy an insulator blanket or something and wrap the container/s..I'd do something along those lines. You should be fine. 2.5 hrs is not a horrible trip for them.

Re: Might Have To Travel With Snakes
They can live in travel tubs for the week at home, as long as they have appropriate temperatures and humidity. The car trip won't be a big deal, I would just run the car heat so the interior is in the mid-80's and put them on the front seat for the trip.

Maybe buy some sphagnum moss and a container and cut a hole in it,wett the moss heavily and keep it around the heat with the snakes ..that will help keep humidity up..but I wouldn't even stress that..2.5 hours ,just keep them warm.

Go get a couple hand warmers from walmart. The kind people use and stick them into the container with your snakes. Also heater In front seat. Yes you can belt the containers into the seat lol. I drove over an hr away to buy my girl when I first got her. Enjoy your trip.

No, don't use hand warmers from walmart, thats asking for trouble. Use the heat packs people use when shipping. They have a maximum temp of like only 100degrees or so. They peak there for a certain number of hours too. Hand warmers are much more unregulated and could cause a problem. I would bag the snakes up to move them. Don't put the heat packs in the bags with them, just in the box or plastic tub they're being transported in.

OP,hand warmers can be used if it's most available and easiest for you to get, common sense, which some lack, this is what you do..you take the hand warmers and then get an old t shirt, cut the old t shirt into pieces and wrap the hand warmers in them,us some black electric tape to keep the piece of fabric wrapped around the hand warmer..don't over wrap the hand warmer, but enough where some good heat can still get through..remember,what may feel barely warm to the touch to you is prob and going to be good for your snake.

I concur with this advice. I had a bad experience transporting a snake once and using those stupid hand warmers from Walmart. I had it wrapped and taped in a towel and it still got to hot. DO NOT use those things.
