Thermostat probe
So I have my girl all setup and I am using an UTH and I have it hooked up to a hydrofarm thermostat. My question is, I know thati put the probe on the warm side, but do I put it under the substrate making contact with the glass or on top of the 1 inch of cypress mulch?

Put it where the snake can touch it, and set the thermostat to what temperature you want that spot to be.
I usually put it touching the glass, but set it a bit higher than the temp readout there - the snake *usually* doesn't go under the bedding if there's a hide, and the substrate will not be as warm as the glass bottom of the tank would be.
Hope that helps!

Usually with UTH's you put the probe between the heat mat and the enclosure. I may be wrong but this is how I set up my tubs that I use a UTH with. Heat mat - probe - enclosure.
Not sure if this varies with a glass tank set up.

I have mine in glass tanks and I do it the same way.

Probe goes outside the tank to be safe.
Goes: uth, probe mounted to uth, cage bottom
Use the search feature to read up. Its been discussed just a bit.
I think LL meant can't touch it rather than can. Its also good to have a ir temp gun to check the surface temps and get the tstat dialed in.

Starting from the bottom it should be uth, thermostat probe, enclosure (glass or plastic, thermometer probe, substrate.
