    heat tape question

I have been scanning the forms but can't find the answer I am looking for.

I am wanting to get heat tape for the rack I am building but would like to do 1 long piece weaved from shelf to shelf with only 1 plug in. I only have 4 tubs so shouldn't be too long of a piece, my question is, can I plug 1 long piece of heat tape into my thermostat?

    this is my t stat

and planning on having RPI connect my plug in to the heat tape before they ship it.

    will that work??
