baby ball...two kills but confused...what NOT to do!
took my baby (5 weeks) to a local feeder and boy was this guy interesting...he was also a breeder and had racks of snakes but anyway...we decided to feed my bp there...he took his first fuzzy (live) down (second time eating for me since I got him last week)...ok good...he still looked hungry so the guy wanted to "experiment" and give.him a choice...pink rat or another fuzzy (both live)...we gave him his privacy, left and came back and well this was the outcome...[URL=http://s1363.photobucket.com/user/Derek_Dontneednocosign_James]
he got confused and while the rat kicked he just held the mouse in its mouth...the guy was like "shouldn't have done that" and had to force feed him the mouse...he said he never saw that before...this little guy aggressive as hell...I hope the pic worked...first time using photobucket

If you baby ate, I would not recommend force feeding, this should be done as an absolute 100% last resort. While I don't currently feed live, F/T is just more convenient for me, I would always recommend being present for live feedings. Depending on the position the rat is during constriction, your ball python can get bit and cause injury to your snake. There is a couple things you can do to help limit the risk, (i.e. don't dangle the rat, make sure the rat is well feed and properly hydrated), you wan't to be in position to stop the bite if possible, I would recommend chop sticks to hold the rats teeth back if necessary.

If possible, I would also try and prevent you snake from going to another location; this will help reduce the chance of mites or other illness you snake could catch.

Pic should work now.
Never force feed anything unless absolutely necessary, and I probably wouldn't go to that guy again if he does this often.
