no interest in eating
so i have had my pastel since july and she is on live mice. im keeping her on them until she gets bigger. since i know this can be harmful for her i moved to freshly killed and she was still eating well and all of a sudden she just wont. i tried a pre killed today and she did nothing. gave her the second on live and usually they are dead in 10 seconds. but still nothing. she is in a 15 qt sterilite tub. hide and water dish. i keep her hot side about 90 and she in on aspen. i switched from paper towel to aspen but she was still eating when i made the switch. my other butter girl is on f/t small rats and eating fine. sooo any ideas why she would just stop ? thanks alot

How big is she? Sometimes at a certain weight ball pythons will not eat. And if this is the first time a meal has been refused, it is not a cause for alarm. Be patient, not all ball pythons will eat every time they are offered food.

What's her weight? As long as the prey is appropriately sized there's not a lot of concern. Many people feed live without incident. I'd give her the week then just try a live, see what happens.

She is 225 grams but i tried again today and the same thing she will be face to face with the live mouse and just back up away from it so i dont know, its more frustrating since she was very small when i go her and her feeding response was good up until i tried to switch to f/t.

Tons of people feed live. Some snakes just don't like frozen. Feed whichever your snake will eat.
It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.
It is okay to feed live food to snakes.

Only offer on a weekly basis, if she doesn't eat on the scheduled feeding day try again the next week. Offering food too often can cause more stress which leads to further not eating. Just try to feed what she is used to and persevere, I'm sure she'll eat sooner or later for you
