New babies and a few questions!

Got my three new babies today! My beautiful albino girl, bumblebee boy and het gs girl! This bring my BP's to 6 can't stop!

Right few questions: he bought these BP's at a reptile show on the 22nd September and some of the weights seem a little low to me. May be wrong here!

    1. Albino - 60g is this a little bit low for a BP that was bought a month and a half ago for what her rough age should be?

    2. Bumblebee - 77g ditto to the above and also he looks to be in shed but his previous owner said he shed two weeks ago. Anything to be worried about?

    3. The shocker!! Het GS at 174g (she has been feeding on larger prey items from the start - rat fluffs as opposed to rat pups like the others. I believe she was older than the others when bought though!)

Onto one of the ones I already have...

    5. my pastel seems very dry and looks to have a stuck shed (breeder who dropped my spider off believes this to be the case) She has two water bowls and is misted. Her last shed was awful, all in pieces and needed assistance and was left with an eye cap still on. ANy advice about her as well?

That's all I can think to ask right now sure I'll think of something else

    1. Rat fuzzie every 5 days until you hit ~100g then you can move to rat pups ever 5-7 days.

    2. Go ahead and treat him as one, though he might just be able to handle a pup.

    3. Probably time for a small rat every 7-14 days...some might say to stick with pups until you hit 200g, really depends on the snake.

    4. A good soak with a bit of this...

They are a bit low in my book, but not really at a dangerous level, just give them a good environment and steady diet, they will grow well.

Do you mean rat pup then move to fuzzie? Is their small size anything to be worried about? They were sold when ready but seem small for me as I got a hatchling just ready to be sold yesterday as 87g. Maybe they were just born small?

The two little ones are eating rat pups at the moment. Should I attempt a fuzzie. The old owner said they should be ready to move up now. And move the het gs onto small weanlings like my pastel (who is now 288g! that's 96g in a month with me and only 3 out of six feeds!)

For the bad shed, what type of subtrate are you using, and how are you measuring humidity?
I was using aspen and found that, although it worked for my other snake, not for my ball python. I switched to cyprus mulch and the humidity holds much better. You can also add a "shed box" (ie. a container with a smooth hole cut in it, with damp moss inside) to the vive. Mine uses his several times a week, and was in there during his shed cycle and out came a perfect - albiet tangled - shed.

Just to comment on this confusion, I'm not sure about where you live in England but in North America the sizes go pink, fuzzie, pup, weanling, small/adult, and so on. So I think the poster meant that if you are on the second size of rat to move up to the third size, regardless of what it is called.

Fuzzie are smaller than pups, at least the ones I buy from Rodent Pro are. If they are already taking pups (NOT pinkies, PUPS ) then just go with that. It sounds like the pastel is ready for a small rat, weaned rats for the het GS sounds good. The little ones are a bit low, but far from a dangerous level, they will grow well with proper care and a beautiful mother such as yourself .

Ah our sizing on rats go pup, fuzzie, small weanling, large weanling, small rat etc! That would explain the confusion!

I use paper towels, I did use aspen but my little girl got mites and I switched. Haven't switched back. Not as pretty to look at but more economical for me and good to make sure the mites have 100% gone (which I am sure they have)

I'll get that hide set up now! I have some moss and a tub my grandad made for me. I'm a little worried that this is her second problem shed since I bought her on the 5th October

I have a digital hygrometer thermometer and have ordered some more to arrive on monday since I got all these new snakes
