UTH's can get super hot. Those "temp controllers" you get from the pet store won't do a very good job, I would really suggest looking into a better thermostat online. The cheapest one you could get that does a decent job is the ReptiTemp 500R. Otherwise I would suggest a Johnson or even something like a herpstat if possible. UTH's can be just as dangerous as flex watt or heat tape without the right equipment to control the heat.
