Yes, true power feeding produces major health problems down the road; however, at the same time, it is possible for keepers to feed a bit extra and come out with a healthy animal, the only difference is the specimen grew a lot faster. Of course there are also some species were less is more food wise and trying to induce rapid growth causes more harm than good (i.e. Scrubs, Chondros, ETBs, Diamonds, etc...). Power feeding is force feeding extra prey usually via a chain system, whereas keepers trying to induce growth simply allow their snakes to eat extra if they want it.
