Question
Your 20 gal long, do you keep your heat lamp in the middle? I was told I should keep mine on one side of the tank, and I prefer the right side for the hot spot. I don't have lamp holders yet, so they're now sitting ontop of the tank, but I will be getting some. My original idea was to get for lamps and 4 holders to have a certain degree on the hot side, and a certain degree on the cooler side. Is that okay? My house gets very cold now that winter has arrived and insulation is rather bad.
Great idea with the top by the way, I never would of thought of it myself and I know now what I'm going to be doing here in the next week or so.

It depends on if you have a uth or not. With uth lamp goes more towards the middle, if you're running only lamps then on one side. Four lamps running for a 20 gal long?? You'd be better off getting a space heater for that particular room

Re: Tank Screen Top Foil Treatment Tutorial
Just to Clarify I didn't mean 4 lamps for just the 20 gal, I have two pythons. xD Sorry. Kaa is in a 10 gal and Sampson is in the 20 gal so the lamps would of been two per tank for hot and cool controlled temperatures. We also may consider getting a space heater.

Ohhh Ok, that makes more sense
For the 10 gal two would be overkill. I think your best bet is the space heater.

I have been using a vaporizer in my snake room to keep my humidity up during shed. I tried your technique on my boas tank because he's in the blue right now. Without the vaporizer running, his humidity went from 47% to 55% within an hour of converting the screen top per your instructions.

This is awesome! I'm definitely going to be doing this for my BP!
I've been looking into ways to help retain the humidity in his tank better!

Re: Tank Screen Top Foil Treatment Tutorial
I have been having issues with my humidity since I got my first ball python on Monday. Just finished following these directions for the screen top on my 10 gal to see if that helps at all. Once he outgrows his baby tank, I'm planning on investing in a rack anyway, for ease of use and expansion purposes, so I'm hoping to avoid spending money on a reptifogger or other screen-top tank methods. Hopefully, this will be my easy and cheap solution for the time being. Thanks so much for the tutorial. I will post my results after I let the humidity and temps settle again.
Currently, I've been misting every 3 hours or so (except for overnight) to keep humidity between 50-60%. Overnight it has been dropping down to 30-40%. We'll see if this changes that!

Re: Tank Screen Top Foil Treatment Tutorial
I have a 20 long with a hinged section down the middle.. How could I make this work with that?

I did it with a 40b with a hinge. Just do each side separately.
