I've seen my girls do it when they "aren't feeling it". They definitely look promising in that pic! Closer than any of my girls have let the boys near so far.
Edit: just saw the newest pic, congrats!

Males can certainly get that large.
I'd sex her to double check again. It almost does sound like male-male behavior. If she really is female, then she must be ultra sensitive. Its rather odd to see females do that.
I always sex my new snakes immediately when they arrive to double check. Sometimes breeders mess up.

It doesn't happen every time, but it's definitely not uncommon. It's one of the reasons I suggested another user on here be careful about breeding in glass tanks. I've seen breeding pairs get rowdy enough that I'm sure they would have cracked or broken a tank...

Re: Female pushing male away
Lucky you, ive had just the opposite. I put our lemonblast male in with our bumblebee a few days ago...within minutes she started scenting and wagging her tail. All he did was sit there. Maybe he even yawned lol. And i left him in there for three days...no courting, no locks, nothin. The female seemed a little agitated. Looks like yours finally figured things out
