I never thought I'd say this, but...
I'm having problems with TOO MUCH humidity!
Just recently got an AP T8 with a divider -- I had a screen-top before, so you can image what humidity problems I had then. But, anyway, I use Eco Earth as a substrate, and apparently this stuff keeps moisture TOO well, because I've currently got humidity levels up in the 80's. One of my boys is in shed, so I suppose that isn't too bad of a number for him, but otherwise... I don't know. My experience with Eco Earth has proved that it dries out after some time, but I don't even know if it'll have the chance to do so with how well the T8 locks in humidity.
I've taken the water bowls out of the enclosure, and that hardly put a dent in the readings. So, I'm at a loss for what else I can do to subtract from it.
Are these levels okay for the time being? How long can I expect them to stay so high?

I don't doubt that the levels are that high, but what are you using to measure humidity? I would probably switch them to paper towels for the time being, and take out the eco earth to let it dry out for a few days. That said, I really don't think the humidity is all that bad as long as you have good airflow and the substrate isn't damp to the touch. When we have our evaporative cooler on in the summer, the ambient humidity is right around 75-80%, and I haven't had any issues with that.

I do have the cheap little stick-on temp and humidity gauges, but just to make sure they're reading correctly, I opened one of the doors a crack and stuck an electronic humidity sensor just underneath the gauge, and I'm surprised by how close the two readings were. Both were in the upper 80's, but it gradually dropped to the upper 70's since I had the sliding door cracked open. So, right now I have both doors open just a little bit (and I'm sitting directly across from the cage to make sure there are no attempted escapes, haha), but even that isn't doing a lot. I'm thinking I will probably have to temporarily change out the substrate, yes, but I didn't really want to disturb them too much by doing so... I just got my little pied today, and he's already way stressed out.

Well, if you're gonna keep an eye on them, then I'd just crank the doors all the way open. Just make sure you watch them very closely! I don't want any missing snakes on me lol.

Ive had the same problem.
A small occelating adjustable fan will do wonders. You'll have to tweak it and check often to find the sweet spot but I promise you it will help.

I use eco-earth in my wood display cages, and it works great for them, the lights dry out the eco-earth nicely. I had the same problems with my tubs, it never seemed to dry out. In fact, it seemed to just get more and more soggy until it was completely soaked! All my bins are either Cypress Mulch, or paper towels.

Yup. Just switched from Aspen to Eco-Earth & Cyprus Mulch. Used to have to jump through some hoops, tin foil the top, etc etc etc just to maintain 50% humidity. Put the new mixture in on top of some newspaper, took off the foil from the lid and within minutes it's been sitting between 75-80% humidity. Temps around 80-92. If 75-80% humidity isn't bad for them to have constantly I think I'll stick with this. If it could become a problem long term, then I'll look into solutions. From the sounds of it though, it won't have any long-term problems?

I don't see a problem as long as the temps stay up and stable. It is humid where they are from... usually around 70.
Also it may drop a lil when the light is on it for awhile.
I loved the Eco Earth in my tank!

Yeah it's definitely working out MUCH better! The temps have been bouncing around a little but only by a little bit. The hot spot hasn't gone below 86 and the cold hasn't gone below 75. Just went in to check after leaving things for about an hour as they will typically be left and we're looking at 90 hot, 83 cool 69%. Looks good to me. Finally, I can relax and know my snake is comfortable.
