Thoughts on Repti Bark?
Just to make things clear: I do NOT have humidity issues, and that is not why I want to change substrate.
Eco Earth gets clogged very easily in the tracks of my terrarium's glass doors, and it's incredibly inconvenient. I currently have my boys on paper towels, which work perfectly fine, but I've always really loved a natural-looking environment. So, I'm considering something like Repti Bark, but I've noticed mixed feelings about it. I've heard that it can be really dusty, that it's "uncomfortable", even that you can get splinters from it. Can anyone confirm or console these concerns?
I've heard some similar things about cypress mulch, too -- that it will dry out and get dusty and prickly after some time. Any other info on that?
And if these two aren't quite adequate, are there any other suggestions for "natural" looking substrate that isn't as loose and messy as Eco Earth?

Idk man,I just picked up a bag of coco husk, looking to give it a shot. Maybe look Ito,I was told just put it in tank spray it down and leave it be. Good natural look and works with humidity,so it's def a plus

Well, certainly keep me updated on it, then! Coco Husk is one thing I haven't yet looked into.

I believe eco earth and coco husk are basically the same thing.

Coco husk seems more like a bark, Eco Earth is more fine

Thoughts on Repti Bark?
I refuse to use that stuff.
I understand that it's normal for a snake to ingest a bit of substrate when eating. My boa once struck at its rat and missed and got a complete mouthful of reptibark. There was one large pointy piece that got stuck in his mouth. It almost gave me a heart attack when I had to pull it out. After that, I've decided to stick to paper towels.

I love reptibark. Holds humidity well, looks fantastic... If only it wasn't $25 a bag and even with 6 snakes a big bag won't get me all the way through a substrate change for everybody (I like it nice and thick and leave it the snakes to push around the bark to their liking).
