    Paper substrate absorbency?

I don't think copy paper would be good idea at all. If you wanna use paper then stick with newspaper, paper towels, kraft paper, paper bags, etc.

Using paper substrate isn't nasty at all. Every time my snakes make a mess the whole tub gets wiped down. Compared to just "spot cleaning" with wood substrate where you could miss something, i don't see how paper is nasty. Both methods work, i've just found that i prefer paper.
