    It's only natural for specimens to hide, it's their thing. They will eventually come out for "foraging" and the like, usually in the evening. And yes humidity is necessary mainly for respiratory and dermatological health, 50-60% is fine. This is my 2013 pastel, she eats one rat pup every 6-7 days... . Hope that helps.
