I think this is a pretty good discussion. I definitely agree that crushing the skull is one of the most humane methods, provided it's done correctly. Although I breed my own rats, I prefer frozen thawed for feedings. It allows me to stockpile my rats, so I'm never in a bind if a few of my females decide to eat their litters. Plus I don't have to worry about the rat biting my snakes. Win win for me. And I don't really mind the smell, not any worse than meat thawing![]()
