My journey ended happily after all, got a normal female
(I have no idea if I'm posting this in the right section. If not, let me know )
I just wanted to share this thing that happend to me today.
Today I went off to a reptile show with my brother to see if maybe I was lucky enough to find a female ball python normal or a morph. I've been looking a long time for a female that would ideally be ready to breed or almost ready. So my track began with a good start to the day , up early in the morning and eat a good, healthy breakfast. Took a shower and then I rode down to the train station to meet up with my brother, and off we go with the train to the reptile show wohoo ! We arrived in good time , as I planned that we would do so that we could be one of those who first came in to the reptile show. But once we got there , it was apparently already open, which surprised me. So we paid the entrance and went in and was greeted by a huge gathering of people who came there before us I was a bit worried and thought "have all managed to buy up all adult females now?" .. And I was right, I visited all vendors and was told that they had no adult females left to sale so I got very disappointed, they did not have any young females either left, I saw a single female (young) that was for sale but it was a normal and another that I really could not afford to buy (if I had to decide for myself , I had bought her but I got a budget from my husband about how much I could spend on buying snakes lol ) I were also looking for some male morphs too, but I did not find what I were looking for. So I had a bit of bad luck .. Me and my brother decided to go out and get some fresh air (it was very hot in there) and thought about what we should do now, if we were to go home or go back and watch some more reptiles .. we decided that we would go back in again . And at that moment , it was just as if it came out of nowhere, a female ball python at 900 + g just stood there on a desk , a few people stood by her and looked at her, mumbling if they would buy her or not , so I rushed there , waited impatiently for them to move so I could get a look at her too . It was a normal ball python female with a really low price, so I started thinking , I should buy her or not ? I asked if I got to watch her closer , looked in the mouth , the eyes and the back to see if she was healthy, and she was . (I think hopefully she is, I 'm no expert yet) Then I thought, I have not been waiting for over a half year, built me my own snake rack all by myself, bought incubator, traveled all the way here and then go home without a snake with me .. So I appointed myself to buy her, paid 50 eur for her and thought to myself, for breeding or not, this is a snake, and I love snakes! And if I'm lucky, I might have the odds on my side when i'll mate her with my bumblebee, only time will tell. But I'm really happy that i got a relatively large female. And before we went home, I bought some frozen mice and rats with me too. So the trip ended good at least! And then I went home with my cute normal (I think it is a normal? Or..?).
I think this will be a good start for me.
When you get a new snake, when do you feed them? I'm planning to wait feed her until it's time for my male to eat.
Here is some picture of my new snake.
Does she look healthy to you?
