Still thinking. Its 88 on her hot side right now. She's being pissy. I got her food and when she finally struck it jumped after it got away from me. So bad strike. Then I gave it a good tap with the hammer and she didn't want it. I left it in there for about 30 min and finally took it out and put it in the freezer. Then she got mad at me for giving her fresh water. Gonna leave her be till after shed. I will just do misting and fresh water.

Should of just let her go at it herself again. One missed strick doesn't mean she can't do it on her own. I don't hold on to mine.... plop it in the enclosure and let her do her thing, just keep a watch on things.
They know how to hunt... they're not as fragile as people make them out to be. As long as the prey is appropriately sized.
They do it all by themselves in the wild

    Re: Burrowing BP

After not being around her for almost 2 yrs I'm a little gun shy. I need to trust my instincts again with her. At least I freeze the darn thing before it could start stinking lol. I can return it to the store and get a new one after she sheds. She should be hungry then. She was more interested in getting out of the cage than anything else. I think with her about to go into shed and moving and insulating her cage yesterday might have stressed her. She hissed at me for the first time tonight. So that's why I'm going to leave her be for a while and just give her fresh water and mist her a bit. She is staying around 88 degrees on hot side and 55% humidity so thats a good thing. I just can't wait till tomorrow when I can get the stuff I need for her. Going to do some misting here in a bit and leave her heat light on all night. It just sucks that she is stressed right now. Oh well the only remedy for it is time and being left alone.

    Re: Burrowing BP

I know the owner and they are short of rats because theu are so expensive. I will take ot up there frozen and trade it for one after she sheds. Before I left her even in shed shewas a little shy but never hissed at me. If I didn't know better I would swear they switched her for their aggressive male thats a het for something just cant remember. Just gonna leave her till shed is done. Her belly was pink yesterday and I don't know exactly when it turned. Gonna keep her heat and humidity up and make her comfy for now. Except tomorrow gotta stress her again to put on proper belly heat. I am going to leave the blankets on though. Good insulation for now till I get a good enclosure for her.
