Sounds normal. Many snakes like to soak during a shed. Its a good thing. They know what they need better than you and it will stop soaking when it wants.
The pink belly is one of the first signs of a coming shed. The snake should start looking really dull and then start getting hazy and the eyes will be cloudy.. This is the blue stage because they take on a blue tint. The skin will then clear up and you should have a nice full shed.
