When should a BP be switched to rats? Or I guess, how soon can you switch a BP to rats? Is the primer method a good route to go? http://www.proexotics.com/FAQ_answer...e_to_rats.html

I've read from many people that they start their balls on rat pinks from day one. I would guess that it's never too soon, so long as you can get the appropriately sized rats you need. But some people may have stronger opinions than I do on this issue.
As for that primer method...it SOUNDS good. Good luck trying that with a snake who is too shy to eat if you're in the same room or whatever. Meaning...I'm sure this method works often...but it can't be guaranteed to work with every snake.

the sooner the better for it could be much more difficult longer down the line

1.0 American Pitbull Terrier (Gandhi)
0.1 German Shepherd (Bailey)
1.1 Mixed Rescue Cats (Horus and Manji)

if you have a petshop bp, odds are it's never seen a rat. so keep feeding mice until they are just clearly not enough for a meal.

If you read my post in the BP general area youll see the scenting method has worked for me, stinky, funky, musty, mouse bedding can work wonders, plus my rat whisker tickle method, I think I may be on to something.

i don't think the "whisker tickling" had very much to do with your snake being hungry, bro. congrats though.

While the touch method doesnt make em hungry it sure gets there attention, Plisk hadnt struck at a meal except for his very first with me, I think a very light touch CAN get them pumped up sorta like ringing the dinner bell. Plus Im sure it mimics prey that venture too close only to get hammered. Ive also just read of someone else doing the same.
