    Extra INactive BP trouble?

I have a 6-week old male albino BP, purchased 10 days ago at an expo. Due to equipment problems it took me about a week to get his temps and humidity to an optimal level (heating pad kept shooting up to 110+, cool side wouldn't reach 80), and although his stats have been good for the past two days he seems extremely lethargic and won't come out of the hot side hide, even at night. I have a hot spot temp of 90-94, ambient/cold side temp of 80-82, and humidity 40-45%. I handled him yesterday and he didn't show any signs of shedding or sickness, at least as far as I could tell. He unballed without much trouble, wrapped around my hand and slithered around a little bit flicking his tongue.

When he's in his cage, though, he goes into his hide and won't come out. Even at night. I've tried feeding him f/t mice twice since I got him and he's wanted nothing to do with it either time, so I might try live next time but I'm not sure. I'm wondering why he's so inactive; my understanding is that he should be hiding by day and coming out to explore/hunt at night. I'm slightly worried that something may have gone horribly wrong since his temps fluctuated so much during the first week, especially since he hasn't eaten. He currently weighs 94 grams; I'm not sure if this is too skinny for a 6 week old BP. Any thoughts/advice?

All I know is my snake prefers a cooler hot sides...I keep the warm side air around 84-88 and his hot spot under his hide about 86.. Humidity around 30-40 on the reg,I prefer50. My guy never comes out of his hide, unless he wants water or food ( cause he is always hungry)or to just stretch out. Other words,he comes out maybe 3 times a week for a few hours from what I see atleast.

Welcome to the world of ball pythons. They like to sleep....a LOT. There will be periods of activity...most typically when they are really hungry or when something has been changed in their enclosure and they have to check it out. And then there will be long periods where its seems like you have nothing but an empty cage to look at. Most of the time, they'll just chill in their caves....day or night. They really don't pay all that much attention to clocks or our predictions.

So it's probably normal/good if he stays in his hide 24/7? I hope he's not starving to death in there or anything.

Feed him on a schedule and he will come out to feed, I would try live just to kick in his feeding response after a few feedings you can try f/t again

It's definitely good/normal if he stays in his hide all the time. If I see my snakes out roaming during the day I immediately check temps to make sure that isn't the problem.
