    You shouldn't have any issues with breeding/laying in a tank. Just be prepared to do a deep clean of the tank when you remove the male (the females tend to dirty the tubs). Also, put the tank in a low-traffic area or cover all the sides. You want to make them feel secure enough to breed.

    That said, I used to get feeders from a pet shop who had a breeding pair in a 40 gal tank that bred all the time with only one half-log hide and in a high-traffic area in the pet store.
