High humidity can cause respiratory infection if the air circulation is poor.
And I know closets don't have the best air flow. I know someone who kept a rat rack in a open door closet and his entire colony got RI from poor air circulation.
Maybe keep a fan running in the room and the closet door cracked open a bit if you're going to have high humidity.
